These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Android mobile application PlusChinese (the “App”), including all content, features, and services made available through it. Please read these Terms carefully before using the App.

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using PlusChinese, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. About PlusChinese

PlusChinese is an educational mobile application designed to help users learn Chinese language content. The App is offered worldwide and is intended for personal, non-commercial use only.

The App may offer limited functionality for free. A single one-time premium in‑app purchase via Google Play is available to unlock all current content and any future content updates, unless otherwise stated.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use PlusChinese. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained permission from a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for your use of the App and compliance with these Terms.

You may not use the App if doing so would violate any applicable law or regulation in your country of residence.

3. License to Use the App

Subject to these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, worldwide license to download and use PlusChinese on compatible Android devices that you own or control, solely for personal and non-commercial purposes.

You agree not to:

  • Copy, modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the App;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App;
  • Sell, rent, sublicense, distribute, or otherwise exploit the App commercially;
  • Circumvent or attempt to bypass any technical protection or purchase verification mechanism.

All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.

4. Premium Purchase and Payments

4.1 One-Time Purchase

PlusChinese offers a single premium purchase through Google Play. This purchase unlocks all existing content and any future updates or additions released for the App.

This is not a subscription and does not auto-renew.

4.2 Payments and Processing

All payments are processed by Google Play and are subject to Google’s payment terms and policies. The developer of PlusChinese does not collect or store your payment information.

4.3 Refunds

Purchases are generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or where Google Play’s refund policies apply.

For users located in the European Union, you acknowledge that:

  • The App provides digital content immediately after purchase.
  • By completing the purchase, you expressly consent to immediate access and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal, to the extent permitted under EU consumer law.

5. Content and Intellectual Property

All content available in PlusChinese, including but not limited to lessons, text, audio, graphics, design, logos, and software, is owned by or licensed to the App developer and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not use any content outside the App except as expressly permitted under these Terms.

6. User Conduct

You agree to use PlusChinese in a lawful, respectful, and appropriate manner. You must not use the App to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App’s operation or security;
  • Attempt unauthorized access to the App, servers, or systems;
  • Use the App in a way that could cause harm, damage, or liability to others.

7. Availability and Updates

The App may be updated from time to time to add features, improve performance, fix bugs, or comply with legal requirements. Future updates may change or remove certain features, but premium users will continue to have access to all supported content.

The App may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond reasonable control.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

PlusChinese is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

No guarantee is made regarding learning outcomes, accuracy of content, or uninterrupted availability of the App.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of PlusChinese shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of progress, loss of profits, or business interruption.

The total liability, if any, shall not exceed the amount you paid for the premium purchase, or zero if you have not made a purchase.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is not permitted under applicable law (including certain consumer protection laws).

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.

The developer may suspend or terminate access to the App if you materially breach these Terms or if required by law. Termination does not affect rights or obligations that by their nature should survive termination.

11. Privacy

Your use of PlusChinese is subject to the App’s Privacy Policy, which explains how personal data is collected, used, and protected in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App developer is established, without regard to conflict of law principles.

If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you may benefit from mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence, and nothing in these Terms deprives you of those protections.

13. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. If changes are material, reasonable notice will be provided through the App or its store listing. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
